Crucial Conversations: Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit, City of Toronto
Join me this morning at 11:00 am EST LIVE on Instagram to kick off @globalleadershipvillage’s Crucial Conversations as part of the Global Leadership Village’s Sacred Sunday Series.
Crucial Conversations features members of our community dialoguing about Anti-Black racism: sharing supports and solutions for us. This virtual series continues the conversation of Anti-Black Racism discussing ways to heal and promote leadership literacy. As an editor and director, Sonia Godding Togobo, has interactive and intimate conversations with community members and leaders who are reflecting how they see leadership in our communities in confronting and resisting Anti-Black Racism.
Our first guest is Civil Right’s Lawyer and the City of Toronto’s Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit’s manager Anthony N. Morgan.
In December 2017, City Council unanimously adopted the Toronto Action Plan to confront Anti-Black racism in the City of Toronto over five years. The “Confronting Anti-Black Racism” (CABR) unit commenced in 2018 and Anthony provides focused, strategic leadership to drive the implementation of the Toronto Action Plan and responds to the priorities identified by Toronto’s diverse Black communities.
